The freed woman, Mrs. Gloria Tolofari, who was abducted about two months ago in Port Harcourt, was rescued at an enclave in Azuzuama in Southern Ijaw area of Bayelsa State.
Confirming her release to journalists, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, the Army Public Relations Officer in the state, Major Michael Etete, said she was rescued on Tuesday, through the joint effort of the Department of State Service (DSS).
“2 Brigade Anti-kidnap Unit, Port Harcourt, in a joint operation with the Department of State Service has rescued the kidnapped mother of the Rivers State Commissioner for Transport, Mrs. Gloria Tolofari.
“The victim, who was kidnapped about two months ago was rescued on Tuesday, September 23, 2014, following a raid operation at Azuzuama in Southern Ijaw, Bayelsa State.
