Players of Dolphins FC , Sharks FC and Rivers Angels stormed the Rivers State Government House yesterday over delays by the State Government in paying their sign-on-fees accruing to two years.
They said it would not be business as usual if the State continued delaying what is due to them, adding that they were considering other options, including boycotting their remaining Nigeria Premier League matches.
Two weeks ago, Deputy Governor of the State, Engr. Tele Ikuru addressed the players of the affected teams and promised them that he'll inform the Governor, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi about the complains from the players but promised that the issue will be resolved.
The teams haven't heard from the government and since they were not ready to be deceived again, they slept in front of Rivers Govt House.
