Reality TV is getting too real. After TMZ broke the news that Here Comes Honey Boo Boo matriarch Mama June was dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel, prompting TLC to cancel the show, the victim, Anna Shannon Cardwell, Mama June’s eldest daughter (known as “Chickadee”), stepped forward as the 8-year-old victim. “I believe she is seeing him and hanging around him,” Cardwell said in an interview with Radar Online. “I’m hurt.” She believes her mother’s decision may have damaged their relationship and has no plans to allow Mama June to see her 2-year-old granddaughter as long as she is with McDaniel. “I think me and Mama’s relationship may well be over.”Radar has the scoop:
The disgraced pervert “did then and there unlawfully perform an immoral and indecent act which did involve an act of sodomy to Anna Shannon with intent to arouse and satisfy the sexual desires of said accused and said act involving the mouth of said Anna Shannon and the sex organ of the accused,” district attorney Tommy K. Floyd wrote in Henry County, Georgia court papers obtained by Radar. The abuse occurred multiple times between October 2002 and March 2003.
Though the case was dismissed, McDaniel was later convicted on aggravated child molestation charges in another case in nearby Spalding County.
According to the Georgia Sex Offender Registry, he was sentenced to ten years in prison for his crime. He was released from Dodge State Prison on March 1, 2014.
The scandal has already lost the family their show, but June could stand to lose custody of her three daughters, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Shannon, 14, Jessica "Chubbs" Shannon, 17, and Alana.
