22-year-old beauty queen/ medical student, Miss South Africa, Rolene Strauss beat 120 international contestants to clinch the most coveted title of Miss World 2014 on December 14. She was crowned by the outgoing Miss World, Megan Young of the Philippines, to huge cheers in the ExCeL exhibition centre. Interestingly, she is the third South African woman to win the Miss World pageant. Her childhood dreams were to become Miss South Africa, Miss World and study medicine.
