YEPAYEYE THE LOVER OF LIFE
Yepayeye strongly believed in the sacredness and sanctity of life and ensured that her children also did same. She taught every one that life is precious and nobody had a right to take the life of another for any reason whatsoever. Yepayeye would have no one unjustifiably kill any of God's creatures, no matter how little. "Thou shall not kill" was one of Yepayeye's favourite Biblical quotes. Often, and especially in her days of extreme poverty and misery, Yepayeye would gather her children to teach them life's morals and would often stretch her palms and reassure them her hands were clean and ask them to always ensure that theirs too were not soaked in human blood or that of any of God's creatures.
