GPs Paid to Care For 'Ghost Patients'

Doctors are being payed to care for 3 million ghost patients who have died, moved or left the country, figures suggest.

According to METRO, NHS digital data shows that 57.3 million patients were registered with the GPs in England in March- but the estimated population  is 54.3 million. It suggests that GPs are being paid for patients they do not look after.

NHS England has ordered 'list cleansing' to axe patients who have not visited a GP for five years. Critics say it penalizes for not being ill.
