Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex recently received a coat of arms in honour of her marrying into the royal family. It was specifically designed just for her and not given to her father unlike Kate Middleton's coat of arms, which was given to her father and immediate family members.
There is an acorn representing Kate and her two siblings, Pippa and James, and a gold band representing her mother’s Carole’s maiden name, Goldsmith.
No statement has been made by Kensington Palace as to why Meghan’s father Thomas Markle, 73, did not receive a coat of arms.
