Nigerian fans booed Dele Alli all through the game as he turned down the opportunity to play for the Super Eagles which he qualifies to play for through his dad. The English team scored an early goal by Gary Cahill which destabilized the super eagles, as their strength could not match that of the 3 lions as they kept pressing hard, giving the Nigerian team no room for a clean pass or domination.
The second half was a different ball game as the super eagles changed their formation to match that of the English team. The super eagles scored a goal in the second half, scored by Alex Iwobi, however the super eagles could not break down the English defense to score an equalizer.
Alex Iwobi is the first Nigerian to score against England in a senior international football match.
The better side won in the end!! Congrats to the 3 lions!!!
