CHLAMYDIA
The most common STI. it's bacteria infection, but often has no symptoms, although it is easily treated with antibiotics.
GENITAL WARTS
The second most common infection. it's caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV) and can increase the risk of cervical cancer. around half of us come in contact with it. warts can be treated, but the virus stays with you for life.
GONORRHEA
It makes peeing painful and can lead to heavy discharge. can infect the throat after oral sex. if not treated early can cause serious health problem but antibiotics treat it easily.
HERPES
Causes blisters on the genitals, burning, tingling and fever.Treatments suppress symptoms but the the virus stays with you for life. some people have only one attack, for others it recurs. can be transmitted through oral sex via cold sores, or sex with a carrier.
HIV
No symptoms. Most cases diagnosed through screening. develops into Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and infections that lead to death. Drugs manage symptoms but cannot cure.
SYPHILIS
First signs are painless sores, followed by flu-like symptoms. Left untreated, it can lead to heart disease or brain damage.
