At 81, Joan Rivers lived a very long life (RIP)

It is with a very heavy heart that I pass along the very sad news that legendary comedienne Joan Rivers has passed away. Last week, Joan stopped breathing and went into cardiac arrest while she was undergoing a throat procedure in a medical clinic in NYC. After she was rushed to the hospital, she was placed in a medically-induced coma and was admitted to the Intensive Care unit. Earlier this week, it was reported that Joan was released from Intensive Care and was checked into her own private room. Earlier yesterday, Joan Rivers passed away. Her daughter Melissa Rivers released a statement announcing Joan‘s death, you can read it in full below.

“It is with great sadness that I announce the death of my mother, Joan Rivers. She passed peacefully at 1:17pm surrounded by family and close friends. My son and I would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Mount Sinai Hospital for the amazing care they provided for my mother. Cooper and I have found ourselves humbled by the outpouring of love, support, and prayers we have received from around the world. They have been heard and appreciated. My mother’s greatest joy in life was to make people laugh. Although that is difficult to do right now, I know her final wish would be that we return to laughing soon.” 

  Joan Rivers was making people laugh right up to the very end of her life. Because of her humor, Joan rubbed a lot of people the wrong way but there is no denying by anyone that she was a comic genius... She will be sorely missed. At 81, she lived a very long life... My deepest condolences goes out to Joan’s family and friends. She is a legend that will never be replaced or forgotten. fashion police is gonna be a total bore without her!
