The World Cup 2018 hosts Russia have beaten their opponent Saudi Arabia five goals to none in the opening match.

Russia's Yuri Gazinskiy is the first player to score with the first shot on target. Denis Cheryshev a substitute for Russia scored a fantastic goal which puts Russia 2-0 and goals from Artem Dzyuba and Aleksandr Golovin hand Russia an emphatic win in the opener.

38-year old Sergei Ignashevich becomes the oldest player to appear for Russia at a World Cup with 122 international Caps and 9 goals to his credit.


This is the biggest win for a host in an opening game.
